OUR APPROACH
How We Help Customers From Thornbury
Shellbright Electrical Gloucester offers electrician services in Thornbury, providing electrical repairs, installations and inspections for domestic and commercial properties.
I carry out consumer unit upgrades, full and partial rewires and electrical fault finding. These services can help when existing wiring requires attention, protective equipment needs updating or electrical problems are affecting everyday use.
For planned improvements, I also provide additional sockets, indoor and outdoor lighting and electric vehicle charger installations. The electrical requirements depend on the equipment involved and the condition of the existing installation.
Homeowners, landlords and commercial customers can also enquire about EICRs and electrical testing to better understand the condition of their wiring and protective devices.
With more than 10 years of experience, I aim to provide straightforward, professional electrical services that help customers make informed decisions about repairs, safety improvements and new installations.
What we solve IN Thornbury
When Our Services Can Help
If your property has an older fuse board, you may be considering whether a consumer unit upgrade would be worthwhile. Modern units can provide improved circuit protection, but the condition of the existing wiring and earthing arrangements needs to be considered before replacement.
Another reason for arranging electrical work is a renovation or property improvement. New appliances, lighting layouts or additional power points may require changes to existing circuits. Planning the electrical installation alongside other work can help minimise unnecessary disruption.
Electrical inspections can also be useful when purchasing a property or reviewing an existing installation. Testing may reveal issues that aren't apparent from normal operation.
Some of the electrical services available include:
Replacing outdated consumer units and reviewing existing electrical protection.
Full or partial rewires during property renovations and upgrades.
EICRs and electrical testing for homeowners, landlords and businesses.
Installing new lighting, sockets and home electric vehicle chargers.

What Thornbury Homeowners Say About Us
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you cover properties just outside Thornbury, including nearby villages?
I cover a range of locations in the surrounding area, including nearby villages. If your property is just outside the main area I serve, it's still worth getting in touch. Simply let me know your postcode or location and a little about the electrical work you need, and I can confirm whether I cover your address.
Will you need to visit my property in Thornbury before providing a quote?
It depends on the type of electrical work you need. Smaller jobs, such as replacing sockets or light fittings, may be straightforward to assess from the details you provide. For larger projects, such as rewiring or consumer unit upgrades, I may need to inspect the existing wiring and electrical installation before providing an accurate quote.
What information should I provide when enquiring about work in Thornbury?
It helps if you can provide your postcode, the type of property and a brief description of the work required. If you're experiencing an electrical fault, let me know what's happening and when it started. Photos of the relevant fittings or electrical equipment can also be useful, along with any access restrictions or preferred times for the work.
What can affect the cost of Electrical Work in Thornbury?
The cost of electrical work depends on several factors, including the size and complexity of the job, the condition of your existing wiring and the materials required. Accessibility can also make a difference, particularly if cables need routing through walls or floors. Testing requirements and any additional safety work may also affect the overall price.
